Yesterday day started with my PT exercises which made me so soar for the rest of the day, I burst into tears more than once. My quads felt like I had just climbed a couple 14'ers, my calves were knotting up, and I felt sharp pains in my abs like if I did one more sit up I'd die. Well, everything I did from using my walker to get around, to sitting up in bed to lifting my left leg with each arm, to petting Ozy required fully engaged abs.
It's like when you see someone completely exhaust themselves and they just can't take any more physically, mentally, or emotionally. I didn't compete in any Ironman but my body felt completely toasted. I didn't win any medals, but Alon reassured me that I am doing well, and will get over this hump in the next few days and feel like progress has been made and will continue.
I took a medication induced nap around noon because I just couldn't get comfortable or relax. As I awoke a lovely coworker surprised me by walking through my front door. It was so nice to speak with Amy and to connect for a little bit.
Mid day is kind of a fog... napping, eating, pain, napping, hobbling around.. Oh yea, and neighbors came by and in shock, wished me well. I retold the story, yadda yadda. They were really nice. Turns out Suzanne is a pediatric physical therapy rehab specialist!
Dinner was my moment of feeling normal. Alon wheeled me out to the front porch (first time using the wheel chair). We brought the kitchen table out there. My Mom grilled a magnificent dinner of eggplant, corn on the cob, BBQ chicken, and green/yellow/purple beans. We topped it off later with some homemade peach cobbler, also courtesy of Mom. Me, Mom, Dad, and Alon enjoyed ourselves out there, feeling blessed and full of delicious food.

We watched a movie together and headed off to bed, separately. Ha.
That sounds like a good dinner! I can't wait to cook for you in three weeks! Yup, three weeks. xoxo
